The Site

The International Trading Estate, Southall

The site is located at the International Trading Estate, located in Southall within the London Borough of Ealing.
Our team are working with existing tenants currently on site to find a relocation solution that works for them.

What is a data centre?

A data centre is a specialised facility that contains a large number of powerful computers and network equipment, such as servers, telecommunication networks and storage systems

They allow you to process, manage and look after your data and it is the physical space where online data and vast amounts of digital information is stored, managed and processed

The world’s largest businesses safely store their data and information in these facilities, which allows us to access critical services required by the government, businesses and communities

They allow us to get on with our everyday online activities such as working remotely, shopping online and browsing social media

The UK government has categorised data centres as ‘Critical National Infrastructure’ alongside energy and water systems and has recently announced further support for the sector

The UK is already a world-leader in this sector with over 500 data centres all equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and rich ecosystems, but more are required to meet growing demands

Consultation to date

First round of consultation

At the end of September 2024 we launched our first public consultation where we held two public exhibitions with over 40 attendees. We gathered some highly useful feedback from the local community to feed into the proposals.

Second round of consultation

At the end of November 2024, we launched our second round of public consultation, where we held one public exhibition. Across this phase of consultation we engaged with over 20 residents and current International Trading Estate tenants.

February 2025 exhibition boards

The below exhibition boards are from our February 2025 consultation

Our Proposals

The new industrial units will support local businesses with ultra-modern, high-specification industrial workspace. This will allow occupiers to perform at their best, supporting growth in the local economy and providing Southall with skilled jobs for the future.

The proposals provide essential growth capacity to the data industry, serving both London and the wider UK and placing the area at the heart of the UK’s digital economy, as well as new space for local businesses and improved access to the site within a safer, greener and more attractive public space.

The proposals will create a range of new jobs for local people. In the data centres, jobs will be geared to the future, providing Southall with employment opportunities in a key growth sector, supporting the long-term prospects of the local area.

Artboard 3

Our proposals for new food and beverage outlets will help to make the International Trading Estate a thriving workplace destination, allowing occupiers on the estate and the local community to connect with others in a high quality, convenient space that supports local business

We have been working collaboratively with current site tenants throughout the process.

Our multifunctional space will provide low cost meeting space available to occupiers and the local community
